History of the Wayland Potato Festival

The Wayland Potato Festival was first held in 1981 and was a celebration of the major local crop of the time, potatos. For many year, the Wayland Rotary Club managed the festival and in 2006, when the Rotary Club decided to focus on other efforts, the Wayland Fire Department volunteered to manage the festival.

Mission Statement
The Wayland Potato Festival is a community based event whose major theme is Potatos. Being a community centric festival, we strive to include other community based organizations.
